About Cospheric:
Cospheric LLC was founded to fill a market need for high quality, reasonably priced colored microspheres. We carry a selection of colored microspheres, and UV fluorescent microspheres in stock, but we specialize in custom microspheres for your exact specifications. We have short leadtimes and small minimum orders.
In addition, we are experienced with most microspheres on the market (including solid and hollow glass microspheres, retroreflective spheres, magnetic spheres and others). We can
provide microsphere recommendations for your specific application and help you source the right microspheres for your project.
Our business evolved into developing reliable and cost-effective technologies to precisely and selectively coat microspheres and microstructures for solar cells and electronic paper applications. We developed a proprietary process for rapid prototyping of high-aspect ratio microstructures, as well as the way to fully encapsulate them while maintaining their flexibility and internal matrix. We offer our customers a wide variety of proprietary techniques as
well as unique know how of processes, materials, tools and measurement
systems, specific to microtechnology applications.
Our laboratories in Santa Barbara, CA, are fully equipped to develop and manufacture microspheres and microcoatings to a wide variety of specifications, as well as produce fast prototypes of microstructures. All our techniques and equipment is custom designed and built, but cost-effective and scalable to roll-to-roll large volume manufacturing.
Close proximity to UCSB allows us to access to state-of-the-art analytical instruments.
Our Founders:
Brian Gobrogge
President and CEO
Co-founder of Cospheric, Brian Gobrogge leads the company as President
& CEO. Previously he played leadership roles in CBRITE Inc and
Gyricon LLC, where he was responsible for intellectual property,
strategic alliance, finance and engineering functions. Brian has over 15 years experience in the production and processing of
microspheres and microparticles. He launched
seven digital display products and started several brown field
operations.
Brian is also a co-founder of Berserker Cycle Design, a company that designs and manufactures off-road recumbent tricycles enabling people with neck and back injuries to ride in comfort.
Brian earned a Bachelors degree in
Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan and received an
executive MBA from University of Toledo. He lives in beautiful Santa
Barbara, CA.
Yelena Lipovetskaya
Chief Technology Officer
Co-founder of Cospheric, Yelena Lipovetskaya leads technology
development efforts. Yelena has over 10 years experience taking new
technologies from concept to production in a variety of industries,
including digital displays, optical fiber, and medical devices. Prior
to joining Cospheric, Yelena was leading R&D of electronic paper
development for CBRITE Inc. Prior to that, she held technical positions
at Xerox Corp, Corning Inc, Cardinal Health, and Gyricon. Yelena
has been developing and manufacturing microspheres for high tech
applications for over 7 years. She has been working with pigmented
charged powders for over 10 years, starting with her experience at
Xerox toner pilot plant in Webster, NY. She has a deep understanding
of the chemistry, rheology, charging, and processing to produce functional
microspheres and coatings that will meet your needs.
Yelena has a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic
University in New York (which has been since renamed NYU-Poly) and a
Masters
degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Rochester Institute of
Technology.
